Moving History: The Mayport Lighthouse Restoration
Free community event in partnership with St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum and Florida Lighthouse Association

Come learn about an important lighthouse preservation project in our own backyard. The Mayport Lighthouse Association will share plans to relocate and restore the historic St. Johns River Lighthouse, including moving it from Naval Station Mayport to the banks of the St. Johns River Mayport Village. Come hear about their inspiring vision of returning public access to a beautiful, fully restored lighthouse tower.

Location: Historic Waterworks Building, 184 San Marco Blvd., St. Augustine

When: June 25, 2026, from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.

Tickets: Free event, open to the public, but registration is required.

Mayport Village Waterfront Market: Third Saturdays

Mayport Village Waterfront Market is a new community-focused market in historic Mayport Village! MLA is one of the regular vendors at the Market, sharing updates on our efforts to relocate and restore the St. Johns River Lighthouse and offering merchandise for sale to support our mission.

Featured Item: MLA is one of the few local organizations that offers the beautiful new book, Mayport Memories, for sale. Published by Tamara Anne Floyd, this new edition brings her mother, Helen Cooper Floyd's, previous three works together in one beautiful hardcover volume. If you love local history, then you won't want to miss the stories and photos of the people who lived and worked in this historic fishing village.

A Guided Trolley Tour of
Mayport Village (October, 2025)

Scenic Jacksonville teamed up with the Mayport Waterfront Partnership for Scenic Visions 2025: Spotlight on Mayport Village.

Guests enjoyed a behind-the-scenes look at our historic working waterfront, with stops at the Coast Guard Station, Marine Science Center, and of course, the St. Johns River Lighthouse. Our Board President and Vice President joined the tour to share the Lighthouse’s rich history, provide updates on our ongoing efforts to save and preserve the historic structure, and tell a few favorite stories about our Lighthouse Keepers.

167th Anniversary Party

The celebration took place on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

The afternoon included a brief year-in-review, including highlights from our 2025 feasibility study, stories about the lighthouse and Mayport Village, a silent auction, and, of course, cake as we honored 167 years of the St. Johns River Lighthouse and its place in our community!
